Christmas eve!

Every year for the last couple of years we head over to my grandparents house. We eat a wonderfully prepared meal that my grandmother works all day for.

My parents, Ryan and I, my grandparents, and Ryan's parents enjoy this evening together.

We relax, we enjoy each others company.

And Ryan and I got to enjoy a wonderful present from his parents and my parents. We got a new stove/oven. Our oven door has been broken since we bought our house last January and we have been wanting a gas stove. And yeah! We got it!

Now I just have to work on getting it installed.

Fun times

The days leading up to Christmas have been busy at the Jones house. We have had a few furnace issues that have been in the fixings and along with that,

We are working on puting a wood stove in.

So my dad and Ryan are tiling the subfloor for the stove.

Another favorite time is winter. Every since I met Ryan we have always been doing some things together during winter. I know it isn't such a thrilling activity, but Ryan likes to have me go bait with him.

So it was snowing so what else better to do!

We went and checked for bait!

Okay, so it's not the best date I've ever been on but I enjoy being outside and spending time with my husband!

Christmas at Auntie and Uncle's house!

2 Days before Christmas I got the joys of having a sweet little girl come visit to open her Christmas presents with Auntie and Uncle.

She is such a ham!

And she loved opening her presents!

After she ripped the paper off she had to go throw it all away before she could open the boxes.

She had to keep all her gifts away from Auntie and Uncle because we couldn't touch them.

She wanted to play with her bath fizzies. We counted 1, 2, 3 Frosties!

She is such a joy to have around!

Holiday Season

It is the Holiday Season! It makes for a couple busy weeks, filled with hustle and bustle and busy schedules.

So far I've knocked a couple of Christmas parties off the list but still have a few more to go!

A four and a half day work week with two games, a practice, and a last minute trip to Augusta Thursday afternoon.

A busy kitchen.

My kitchen was busy last Saturday and Sunday.

I made 2 dozen chocolate cupcakes.

And a vanilla cake. It is hard to tell without frosting what this is supposed to be.

All Done! Dora is complete, and ready to go to the party!

She arrived at the party along with all of her cupcakes!

Apples!

Make Apple sauce!

I had fun one Sunday morning, home by myself and spent the day making apple sauce.

And then I had to go to grams to can it because I can't can on my stupid stove! Let the fun begin!

I got 5 quarts and some left over that we get to eat now! Ryan and I are pretty happy with the way it came out and it is pretty tasty!

Thanksgiving is coming!

But first we get snow!!!!

I woke up to this this morning! Around this house we LOVE snow! We just wait each year to get snow, and not only is it Ryan and I who love snow but.....

Sophie does too!

She couldn't wait to play outside.

And then I couldn't get her to come in!

She was in her own little world.

What to do on a Sunday!

Well, Sunday a day I normally would like to stay inside curled up on the couch with my husband and cook and make my house small yummy!

Instead, the husband is away, I went to the in-laws

I was interested in seeing what they had got done for work over the last week.

The garage, mudroom and kitchen are all coming along nicely!

Wayne likes driving the forklift on the lawn. Or what they have of lawn.

I wanted to pick some apples cause gram wants to make another batch of apple sauce and I thought I might try also!

So, I went picking!

Wayne lifted me up in the forklift so that I could reach the apples that were up high since those were the ones that looked the best.

This view of the field is beautiful!

Look at those apples! The big white bucket for me the red one for gram and a bucket for Carol!

I had fun going up in the forklift and picking apples. Now I have to think of something to make with those apples I picked, hmm.... I think I will do some internet research on good apple recipes.
