Spring clean up

Last weekend, we went down to mom and dad's house early and mom was in the spring cleaning mood.

She was out front sweeping off the deck and cleaning gutters. We got Ryan to take off the gutters for us.

He then even went up on the roof to sweep off the angles in the roof of all the pine needles.

Piper and Sophie enjoyed some relaxing also, I can't seem to get this picture turned but I still love it.

Sophie just sucks up the sun and relaxation on a quiet afternoon!

An attempt on homemade bread!

I was home last night, and I decided I was going to try my attempt at making homemade white bread.

I kinda liked this task. I was able to knead, set aside for rising, and then spend some time in my sewing room, go back down later, knead put in loaf dishes, and go back to my sewing room for some more time sewing.

Then a trip to gram's in between to see how she has been doing this week.

And back home to cook!

I must say this made mighty good toast this morning. And Ryan was super excited to homemade chicken salad, and two slices of home made bread to work this morning for his lunch!

Glad I could please him!

Moving weekend!!!!

That's right! Moving weekend!!!!!

I may a bit excited and it's not even me who is moving. My in-laws are moving!

We started off Saturday morning backing the BIG uhaul truck up to the door and loading stuff in it.

The boys, lugged and lugged. Ryan and I arrived early to help get started and we got a bunch of stuff loaded before the rest of the crew got there at 8.

We then started with a coffee and donut break and a discussion over what needed to go into the truck and when.

Mom kept Sophie occupied as the boys made many trips back and forth.

I caught Wayne taking a break in the trailer while the boys were taking the bed apart.

The boys brought the heavy foosball table down stairs which I then found out will be later coming to my house.

And shortly after two hours of being there, we were following this up the road!

It really didn't take much time to load everything. We had the uhaul loaded along with 4 other vehicles.

Where Ryan and I arrived at the new house first and waited for everyone to show up!

There the uhaul comes. After worries that it wouldn't make it up the driveway it had arrived at the new house.

Sophie had enough of being in the way and playing ball to which she decided it was time for a break. Although she would rather take her break outside in the cool snow.

The boys got right to work,

Carrying things in a being told where everything needed to go.

It was only about an hour to unload and then we all took a break. We had pizza, champagne (not for the pregnant one though), and some time to chat with one another.

The living room for the first time looks like a living room. And it is scattered with dog toys!

Half Way!!!

That's right!!!!

Half way there. This is 20 weeks!

snow day!!!!

Thursday was a snow day!

I always used to get excited as a kid, yeah, no school! As an adult I still get a little excited knowing I work at a school so a snow day means, no school, no work.

Instead I invest my day in keeping busy.

I got this set of curtains made for my bedroom window at camp. Last time we were there we realized our neighbors were from Massachussets and were afraid of the dark, hence they leave every outside light on. Mind you outside my window shining in.

I got Santa put together in the bottom center of this quilt. I have had the quilt hanging on my wall for a while in pieces and it was just waiting to finish that one last block. I do need to hand sew him though and then I can get this quilt all put together.

I pulled out a quilt last week that I have been working on for 5 years. What a good day to work on getting some of those blocks done. So Sun Bonnet Sue got finished and just needs some hand sewing finishing touches.

I even made some time to go outside and play in the fresh snow! Mind you I think the dog likes playing in the snow more than I do, and I like the snow A LOT!

She was able to find her bottle buried beneath all the snow and thought she would entertain herself for a while.

I got the spare bed all set up in the spare room. The sheets are nice and clean and ready for company!

Another block complete on that long lost quilt that has been packed away for so long,

It's sad, I am just missing one more block. And thanks to my mother in law this quilt may actually get done. The last block is paper piecing and mind you I have never done that before. So I called my mother in law to see if she would be interested in finishing it. So the quilt won't have to be put back in the closet for another 5 years.

These pot holders have about had it,

So I thought I would be creative.

And I made all new pot holders!

Snow days may be fun but I always find a way to keep myself busy!

This mama even managed to get a nap in :-)
